It all starts with great grapes! At Vintner's Cellar Saskatoon we carry over 60 wine varieties that vary in quality based on the wine kit selected. Although the finished quality of your wine depends on a number of factors, starting with great grapes is key!
Our concentrate juices include our Gold Medallion wines. Below is a list of our selections.








































Gold Medallion
Our Gold Medallion wine kits are concentrated from selected grapes to provide a consistent, high-quality product. We use natural ingredients and add only Reverse Osmosis water to ensure a great wine you will enjoy.Amarone
An irresistible wine whose elegance draws you subliminally into its orbit. Intense ruby-garnet in colour, it is redolent of a profusion of aromas of coffee, cherries and sun dried fruits. Its high alcohol makes it full and generous in the mouth and it overwhelms the palate with intense flavours, prolonging your pleasure with its characteristics slightly bitter finish. Barolo
A wine that evokes legend and fascination with its brilliant garnet-red and flashes of amber. The bouquet is both pleasing and intense with aromatic notes of violets and oregano. Smooth in the mouth with crisp acidity, its firm but well integrated tannins give good length on the palate. It is a wine that exudes glory, nobility and power. Comparable wines: Montepulciano, Zinfandel and Nebbiolo.
Bergamais
This supple, fruity and delicate red wine is best consumed young. Cherries and plums fill the nose and the sweet cherry follows through the mouth where it lingers. This refreshing wine is best served slightly chilled. It suits desserts and is excellent as an aperitif. Comparable wines: Bardolino and Pinot Noir
Bordailles Rouge
A smooth and round wine, velvety with subtle notes of berry. Dry and medium in colour, this clean and refreshing wine offers unique flavours of raspberry cassis and a touch of bell pepper aroma. Low in tannin and generous and crisp on the palate ages well but can be enjoyed young. Comparable wines: Cabernet-Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
Bourgeron Rouge
A dry, yet robust full-bodied French style wine with an aromatic black cherry bouquet. It has a deep colour with fruity well-rounded flavour of cranberry and cherry. Can be consumed young, but ages well too. It is a shallow, dry - easy drinking wine with the character and elegance of the wine styles of France. Comparable wines: Chat Dormant and Pinot Noir.
Cabernet Merlot
Deep garnet hues, with a brilliant red sparkle. The intense nose of red fruits and herbaceous undertones rise from your glass. The wine is robust, fresh, well structured given its high ratio of Cabernet Sauvignon juice. With the addition of Merlot mellowing the wine, giving it that all too delightful appeal on the palate. Comparable wines: Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordailles Rouge.
Cabernet Sauvignon
Intense red colour with purplish hues, this California favourite has the delicate perfume of cherries and soft spice. A supple wine with mouth 'smacking' appeal and simple complexity. Its full body and solid tannins deliver a fresh spicy wine with mass appeal. Comparable wines: Cabernet Franc and Bordailles.
Cabernet Shiraz
This popular blend of elegant Cabernet Sauvignon along with the fruity flavour of Shiraz creates a lush, full-bodied wine bursting with blackberry, cherry and currant. The delicate oak aroma makes this very intense for all your senses. Comparable wines: Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.
Chianti
Beautiful deep garnet red wine with a delicate nose of red berry jam with floral hints and country berry nuances. This rich, velvety wine is full-flavoured with subtle black pepper and cherry like overtones. It can be enjoyed young or aged. Comparable wines: Sangiovese
Lambrusco
Bright ruby red in colour with violet reflections, this wine is complex, charming and subtle. The aromas of ripe berries, a hint of cherries and subtle herbaceous finish with good length and structure. This wine has mellow tannins with hints of red fruit on the palate and it is usually consumed young and often chilled. Comparable wines: None
Merlot
The supple, round-bodied Merlot is enjoying increased popularity as a pure varietal. Medium to dark red, it has a distinct nose of cherries, raspberries, blackcurrants and mint, also displays some herbs and spices. A smooth mellow wine balanced for easy drinking, while its lower tannins indicate a wine that should be enjoyed relatively young. Comparable wines: Bordailles Rouge, Cabernet Merlot, and Malbec.
Montepulciano
This Italian classic has a deep ruby nose, with violet reflections. It is a complex bold wine with soft peppery tones and nuances of spice, wrapped up in a velvety texture. Well structured for aging. Comparable wines: Chianti and Sangiovese.
Pinot Noir
This wine has a slightly spicy nose with hints of balsawood as well as citrus notes. A soft lively fruitiness on the palate along with mellow tannins leaves a velvety finish. Comparable wines: Bourgeron Rouge
Sangiovese
A rich dry wine. Well-balanced, strong and full-bodied with a deep ruby red colour. This wine has rich flavours of cedar and blackcurrant. It has the deep flavour of intense fruit and mellow tannins with just a hint of vanilla from the oak. The finish is clean and pleasant and is best matched with spicy foods. Comparable wines: Chianti
Shiraz
This robust dry wine is dark in colour with a rich bouquet of warm berries, fresh pepper accompanied by distinctly spicy notes. It ages gracefully into a velvety wine of pure elegance, perfect for entertaining. A powerful heavy oak finish fills the palate. Comparable wines: Cabernet Shiraz, Chianti and Vieux Chateau du Roi.
Valpolicella
This refreshing, complex, medium-bodied wine, has a delicate bouquet and a rich texture. This wine possesses solid tannins and acids that delight the palate. Ruby-red colour, intense raisin and floral flavours culminate in a long lingering finish. Comparable wines: Bardolino, Gamay Noir and Pinot Noir.
Vieux Chateau du Roi
Bright ruby colour, this wine has a fine complex nose of plum and fruit jam. It is rich and hearty with a hint of ripe cherries on the palate. Its tannic backbone allows for graceful aging. Comparable wines: Chianti and Shiraz.
Zinfandel Red
Bright ruby red with slight purple reflections. This wine has cherry and blackberry aromas with a subtle note of strawberries. Spice and pepper flavours fill the palate to both tease and satisfy. A rarity red, best served slightly chilled. Comparable wines: Barolo and Shiraz
Australian Chardonnay
Gold in the glass, this supple, elegant wine boasts rich aromas of honey and tropical fruits while apples, melons and vanilla oak tantalize the palate. Golden in hue and slightly tart, crisp and rich in varietal character. Comparable wines: Semillion Chardonnay
Chamblaise
This easy drinking wine is light-bodied with a clear, smooth refreshing flavour. Essentially dry, but with floral character and a full intensity of fruit make it a universally appealing blend. Comparable wines: Chardonnay
Chardonnay
A very dry, yet full-bodied wine, with gentle oak influenced aroma. This wine is crisp and clean making it wonderfully refreshing. Pleasant on the palate with hints of honey, apples and pears. Comparable wines: Chamblaise and Pinot Chardonnay.
Gewurztraminer
Deep yellow, it has a floral and lemon citrus nose. It is a lively wine with its trademark spiciness, it offers a frontal attack on your taste buds. Well aged it becomes a truly distinctive and pleasant wine. Comparable wines: French Colombard and Riesling.
Johannisberg Riesling
A light-coloured, delicately flavoured wine which offers a slight tartness. Displays a flowery bouquet, complex fruit and cinnamon flavours make it crisp, clean and well structured. Comparable wines: Liebraumilch
Liebraumilch
With a pronounced floral bouquet and a perfect blend of sweetness, this is a particularly good wine when consumed young. Light and elegant, its flavour is soft in the mouth. Comparable wines: Gewuztraminer and French Colombard.
Piesporter
Pale yellow colour, this wine has a floral nose reminiscent of apple blossoms with some exotic fruit notes. It is fresh and subtle with the proper amount of alcohol. Comparable wines: Mosette, Riesling and Liebraumilch.
Pinot Chardonnay
This bright and refreshing dry style white wine has the subtle fruit flavour of apple with delightful crispness and its firm acidity awakens your taste buds. You will truly enjoy its buttery after taste. Comparable wines: Ruisseau Blanc
Pinot Grigio
A succulent introduction, this wine has the gentle scent of honey and herbs. This dry straw-coloured wine is light, yet pleasantly tart with softening hints of green melon. The finish is clean and crisp. Comparable wines: Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc.
Riesling
Pale yellow with golden hues, it has citrus and floral aromas. It is a thoroughly refreshing wine that pleasantly fills the mouth with magnificent fruit flavours of crisp green apples and ripe apricots. Comparable wines: Johannisberg Riesling
Ruisseau Blanc
A rich, medium-bodied wine with a bouquet of pear and apple. Savour flavours of vanilla, spice and toasted butterscotch. This wine also ages well. Comparable wines: Chardonnay
Sauvignon Blanc
Crisp, light amber colour with good acids. The nose is reminiscent of freshly cut herbs with a hint of mint. It will enhance rather than overpower any dish. A wonderful complement to any light dish and delightfully refreshing. Comparable wines: Pinot Grigio and White Bordailles.
Semillon Chardonnay
This wonderful blend brings together two very different elements of a harmonic union. The Chardonnay brings its flavours of tropical fruits with hints of vanilla, while the Semillon contributes a honeyed vegetal character with nutty butterscotch nuances. Comparable wines: Chardonnay
Soave
A fresh, vibrant easy drinking wine, pale straw in colour, with a delicate spice, herbal aroma. The clean, crisp fruity flavour is enlivened with a pinch of citrus and a hint of almonds. This well balanced wine is best served slightly chilled. Comparable wines: Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Trebbianno.
Verdicchio
Medium-bodied and complex with herbal aromas in the bouquet and flavours of lemon and peach. The finish is crisp and dry with excellent acidity. A gentle bite to entice the palate makes this appealing to many. Excellent when served young. Comparable wines: Vinho Verde
Vinho Verde
This wine is crisp with an ever present note of acidity. Its flavour is decisively lemony which makes for a great summer wine chilled and served by the pool. Comparable wines: Verdicchio
White Bordailles
The result of this blending is a crisp dry wine that evokes aromas of figs, flowers and honey. Fresh and appealing, this wine has a delicate light body with many layers of flavour on the palate. Comparable wines: Brise de Mers and Sauvignon Blanc.
White Bourgeron
This delicate bouquet of peaches and apricots leads to a robust, full-bodied wine with a tang of citrus. Expect a crisp, clean finish. This wine is definitely a summer favourite. Comparable wines: Chardonnay and Chamblaise.
White Zinfandel
A delightfully refreshing light wine, clean and gentle. Glowing with a soft pink hue. A strawberry aroma greets you. Enjoyed by the alcohol and fruity cocktail like appeal. Comparable wines: None
Portuguese Rosé
Light, crisp, and refreshing, this wine has a delicate bouquet of strawberries and raspberries with floral notes and a hint of spice.
