    Blue Cheese Burgers

    August 8, 2016

    |

    Kathryn Thompson

It's a wet one out there today, but Craig and I still plan to have our homemade blue cheese burgers for supper. Each summer we make a large batch of burgers and freeze them so we have them ready when we are craving BBQ burgers.

Blue cheese is definitely an acquired taste but when added to our homemade burgers the taste is subtle and not overpowering. Grilled to perfection these burgers make the perfect summer meal and serve well with a nice glass of Malbec.

Malbec is a food friendly wine, which pairs perfectly with barbecued meats and sausage. With its rich and spicy personality, Malbec goes great with beef, chicken or pork as well as spicy dishes and dry cheeses. We hope you enjoy this summer meal as much as we do!

    BLUE CHEESE BURGERS

    Ingredients:

1 lb extra lean ground beef

    1/4 cup bread crumbs

    1 egg

    3 tablespoons blue cheese

    1/3 cup diced onions

    2 tablespoon of Sriracha sauce

    1 teaspoon of salt

    1 teaspoon of pepper

    2 cloves of garlic minced

    Instructions:

Add the beef, bread crumbs and egg to a bowl and mix. Add blue cheese, onions, garlic, salt and pepper and Sriracha sauce to bowl and mix. Roll out palm sized patties and BBQ. If you like more blue cheese top the burger along with your favourite toppings.

The prep and cook time is roughly 45 minutes.

I hope you enjoy this recipe!

    Cheers,
